Guitar Jam

Besides taking piano lessons, Connor has the opportunity of taking guitar lessons after school for once a week for a couple of months. I think he has enjoyed it even though if you ask him, he'll say no! Carter also takes lessons with Connor. Connor will come home and play practice his songs. I remember starting guitar lessons around 4th grade also and it works out great because he is using my guitar! Connor also is able to transfer over how to count notes and measures from the piano to strumming the guitar. His fingers are getting tougher also!
The other night Grandma Berning was over and we invited Carter down to have a guitar jam session! The boys practiced their songs with Grandma and then she taught them a new simple song that was fun to play, "What Do You Do with a Drunken Sailor." This song was a little different from what they have been practicing. I think all of them enjoyed their time playing together!
Here is a little sample of what they were practicing.

Hopscotch

Josie drew her own hopscotch design on the sidewalk and was trying to teach Karley how to jump on the numbers. It was cute watching this and seeing Karley trying to jump on one foot and then two! She needs a little help with it yet, but Josie kept working with her!

Adventure

The girls having been going on "Adventures" the last couple of days. Again with the nice weather and wearing a little lighter coats the girls discovered a new game. While being outside, Emma found a coloring page in her coat pocket. They turned this into a map and starting taking adventures... from what I understand and saw them do.. they follow what the map says; example: walk forward 7 steps, turn and walk 5 steps, etc. it eventually leads them all around the yard and then they like to through a little excitement in with Connor coming and chasing them because he is a wild animal. He loves that part!! It was fun watching them and leading Karley around. Karley keeps right up with her older siblings!

Earrings

The girls like to play dress up with Tessa. She is like their REAL doll! This day they said she had long white hair and purple and red earrings !
Here they are trying out their new hat on Tessa.

Red light.... Green light...

It has been great now that the weather has been warmer and it's light outside longer. The kids love being able to play outside and run around! This night Grandpa Berning was coming over to pick up Brielle and John from our house. The kids were playing outside and when Grandpa got there they wanted to have races... so they had a couple of races back and forth in the yard.. Grandpa wasn't to far behind Emma and Connor. Then they decided to play Red light Green light... I remember playing this game when I was growing up with Dad after he was done with milking... so this game always brings back good memories!

Barney

A couple of weeks ago one of Karley's favorite outfits to wear was Barney which included a face, body suit and slippers. Emma found in the dress up box in the toy room one day and Karley wore it for the next three days straight!! She wore it to Becky's house, Tim and Kristen's house, slept in it and yes, she wore it to her doctor's appointment ( and she wore the WHOLE outfit)!! The nurse and doctor asked if she was a fan and I replied back that she has never seen an episode or knows who Barney was it was just a costume handed down from the Montags! We have since moved on other outfits, but who knows what will be next!!

Breakfast in Bed

I celebrated my birthday on March 1 and Josie was so excited the night before because she told me she had a surprise for me! She finally told she was going to wake up before me and that I had to stay in bed because she was going to make be breakfast in bed. Because I wake up earlier than her to get ready for school, I finally convinced her to let me get ready for school and then I would go back in bed and wait for breakfast. She said, "Ok, when you get your hair and make- up you got back into your bed." The next morning I heard her in the kitchen getting busy....
She then asked if I was ready and she walked down the hall to give me a towel first for my lap and then went back to the kitchen for the tray with cereal and a banana on it!! It was great !!
I don't remember last time I got breakfast in bed. It was a great way to start the morning off!

Cereal

Now that Tessa is 6 months old, we started feeding her cereal and she really has taken a liking to it. The kids were soooooo excited for her to try it. They all took turns trying to feed her and then helped her wash it down with a little water in a sippy cup. Soon she'll be trying other foods which again, the kids are excited about!!

Head bands

The girls received new head bands for Valentines Day. Below you can see Tessa modeling one of hers off and then you see Karley modeling a couple of different types of head bands!! The blanket is her veil because the other girls were playing St. Bernedette and Mary and they both were wearing veils. ( Unfortunately they wouldn't let me take their picture; it was really cute.)

Story time with Grandpa

The girls are enjoying a story read "Katey No Pocket" by Grandpa Berning while Connor was having a piano lesson by Grandma Berning. When it was time to switch lessons, Karley stayed with Grandpa for more stories!
