Night time stories

Karley enjoys sitting next to Connor at night has he reads. Sometimes she brings her books up to read along with him. Connor enjoys reading to her.

Track Meet

As a family, we went to one of Tim's track meets and the kids got a better understanding of what track is all about. Since then they like to have track meets at home. So over the weekend the girls had a track meet. As you see below.. Josie started off from running from our drive way to the neighbors. She then tagged Emma's hand and Emma took off. Karley tried keeping up on her own.
The next day all the kids decided to have races. Connor and Emma raced from drive way to drive way again against each other. Each had their own "lane" to run in... one side walk, one on the grass... later they both switched to the grass with the tree separating them. Honestly, the races were rather close.. I had to be the judge at one end. Connor doesn't want to admit it but Emma beat him twice and the other times she wasn't to far behind at all. Josie and Karley joined in later and finished the race on their own!

What do you think of the uniforms?

Research is saying that barefoot running is better for the body!!

Running hard with her tongue out!

The hand slap hand off!

Trying to keep up with her sisters while holding her baby!

Connor

Drying off in the sun from playing in the water!

Playing House

Over the last couple of HOT days... the kids had a great time playing in the water... and playing house outside! The girls gave their babies walk and Emma made sure we had a supper to eat that consisted of... graham crackers, pretzels, cheese and bananas and water to drink. She said she made sure we had a healthy supper!

Soccer

Emma enjoyed playing soccer this spring. Here are a couple of photos. Her team did go undefeated and Emma even scored 3 goals in her last game!!

Holiday Inn Express

Last Friday night, we had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Express, thanks to Terry's parents. The kids were so excited about going on vacation!! They had a great time in the pool! When Karley first got into the room she went straight to the phone and picked it up and said, "Hello?" Then next thing I know she got into bed and pulled the covers up. Once she was situated, she picked up the phone and said, "Hello?"

Let's Play Ball.....

Emma decided she wanted to try softball this year so we signed her up! She had her first game last Tuesday night and actually she did fairly well. She fielded some grounders hit to her and through them to the bases and even got a hit when she was up to bat. Connor was impressed by her running skills. He said, "Mom, Emma ran really fast!" After the game, Emma said that she really enjoyed playing!

Happy Birthday!!!

Connor and Terry celebrated their birthdays on May 17. We had family over for cake and ice cream that night!! It was a beautiful night to play outside with the cousins! I told Connor that morning that this was his last year of having a single digit number (#9) and next year he'll be double digits for a long time! He said that's right until I turn 100 and then I'll be in the triple digits!

Dance.. Dance..Dance

My aunt and uncle, Dick and Mary, celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary this month. They had a special mass and then a gathering at the Fair Grounds. There was a great turn out!! The kids especially liked the dancing the the band that played older songs. Emma started by taking Grandma Berning's hand to go dance and Josie took Elly's. Josie also got Grandpa Berning out their with her. Connor and I danced a song also. And yes, Terry danced a song with me too. Karley had a great time running around and trying to keep up the dancing like everyone else. Needless to say they all slept well that night!

Father Son Team

Terry is enjoying coaching another year with Connor. I don't know who gets more excited about practice and the games???

Wii Fit Plus

I got the Wii Fit Plus for my birthday, Mother's Day,etc gift. Even though, I haven't used it much since the weather has been nice lately, the kids like to try it out. The girls enjoy doing the Hula- Hoop ,Stepping and the running race (Josie got a good workout during the running race. She ran for ten minutes straight and then wanted to try it again!) Connor enjoys the different balancing activities. This day Josie wanted to try some the hula- hooping and stepping which you need the balance board for. Karley wanted to do what Josie was doing so she got the step stool out and tried doing what Josie was doing with the hula- hooping and stepping activity. Later they switched to yoga and tried doing some of those moves as you see on the bottom picture. They had a good work out that day!

Hawks vs Warriors

Baseball season has begun and Connor and Terry are both enjoying it!! One of the Hawks early games was against the Warriors! This is a fun game for the Connor and Carter to play because they get to play against their cousins Max and Sam. Needless to say they all paid close attention to who got who out and who got hits. The Hawks won in the end.

Hats

The girls were enjoying the sunny day in their new hats!

Gum anyone???

Emma and Josie had gotten some gum from the Easter bunny and had it hidden in their room. One day Karley comes out of their room with a BUNCH of gum in her mouth trying to chew it. Needless to say that when I went into the girls room, I found gum wrappers everywhere!!

Two front teeth

Within the last two months, Emma lost her two front teeth. I shared with her that I lost my tooth front teeth when I was in first grade also. She thought that was pretty neat. She is getting use to eating without them, especially apples.

Cow Ride

One of the kids favorite animal to ride on at the farm are the cow statues. Here is a picture of the 3 two- year old (John soon to be in June) enjoying their ride on the cow.. Karley, John and Lincoln.
