Birthday Celebration

On Saturday, August 27, we celebrated Tessa's 1st Birthday Party at our house! It was a great night of family fun and beautiful weather!
Popcorn bag birthday cake for our movie night! ( I made this one.)

Right away, Tessa grabbed for the popcorn and started eating!

Family photo!
Tessa got some clothes and money. The one toy she did get was the mini keyboard which she really liked; so did Karley! Thanks Scott and Sydney!

We ended the fun- filled evening watching the movie "REO" out on our back patio!

Birthday Morning...

The kids were very excited to have Tessa wake up this morning! The morning started off with singing "Happy Birthday" to Tessa with some banana bread. (The reason for 2 candles is because Karley had to make sure her candle was in also!)
After breakfast, Connor took Tessa to the front room to open her present!

1st Birthday Preparations...

The kids are soooooo excited about Tessa turning 1 tomorrow, August 25, 2011. After Tessa went to bed the girls got busy putting a present together for her. The went around and gathered some of their goodies: Emma's blanket she had when she was a baby, some chap stick, a silly band, some little paper with pictures, etc..
Josie started wrapping the present, but let Emma finish it. The present covering is made from taping colored construction paper together!

Josie putting the finishing touches on the animal pictures that they want to hang down from Tessa's ceiling so she can try to grab them.

For now they are taped on her wall above her crib since she was sleeping; we'll hang them from the ceiling tomorrow. Animal pictures: elephant, bunny, lion and beaver

Final wrapped present. Notice the bow: a munch of masking tape crumbled together! (Josie's idea!)

The sleeping soon to be one year old who has no clue what her sisters are up to with some help from their brother also! Where has time gone??

First Day of School for 2011-2012

Walleye Fishing Day

Connor enjoyed his second year participating in the Walleye Fishing Day. Again, they had to write a short essay about why they like fishing to be able to participate. Connor always looks forward to this day since he is becoming quite the fisherman. He also likes to BRIGHT shirts that they get!
Two kids are in a boat with a guide and fish from 7:oo- 11:30 am

When all the boats return, the fishermen and their guide go on stage and talk about their experience and the fist they caught.

Connor's big catch of the day: 11 1/2 lb Sheep head!!
He was very proud of this catch!!

Connor and his partner placed 7th place for their catches and receive a plaque!

What a day!!

Pinkalicious

This day the girls were playing PINKALICIOUS! They also discovered that skirts make great shawls around their shoulders!

Off to Becky's House

Well In-Service week started last week so we had to start getting into some sort of routine. The kids went to Becky's most days and always looked forward to playing there for the day with their cousins and Feldermans! Each morning Connor was excited to walk up to with Tessa to Becky's house and most often the other girls would follow behind! Connor has been such a big helper and he just LOVES little babies!

Connor making sure Tessa has her hat on!

The cure getting ready to head up the hill to Becky's!
And you see Tessa has already pulled her hat off that Connor put on!

This morning the kids were off before Terry and I left the house!

Here Kitty,,, Kitty...

Here is our little kitty sleeping in her bed. One night before bed Karley was playing kitty in the basket. She had a little toy that she would play with like a kitty would and she then even wanted to sleep in this basket all night. But she did sleep in her bed, but right when she woke up in the morning she pulled the basket into her room to go back to sleep for a little while!

Here is our little kitty awake!

Look who is trying to walk...

Tessa is 11 months old and has really started to pull herself up more and walking around things!

Hula Outfits

Who needs dress up clothes when you can just go into your mom's closest and dresser drawers? This day they were playing Hula using some swimsuit tops and skirts. Later they were pretending Karley was the queen and they were her princesses!

Creek Stomping

After some of the grand kids found out Grandpa Bering was going to Belken lane, right away the boys asked if they could go in the creek! Before getting the ponies in the trailer, we went for a walk through the creek looking for any type of animal that we could find. We came back with two crawfish and yes, they are still at our house!

Bringing the Ponies Home

A couple of Sunday's ago Grandpa Berning wanted to bring the ponies home from Belken lane where they go once in awhile to eat some grass or if my parents are going to be gone for awhile. The grandkids were excited to help bring them back. When we got down there, Patches and Doodles were very excited and started running around! You could tell they were excited! Below is Emma, Max and Josie helping with getting the ponies in the trailer! They have really become good helpers!

Tessa's Pony Ride

Now that Tessa is getting older she is really taking a great interest in animals! This day Tessa had her first pony ride with Grandpa Berning. She enjoyed it before I got the camera out because by the time I got back she was ready to get off!

Fishermen

Connor has really taken a great interest in fishing! Terry and him enjoy going whenever they can. This night Connor came home with a Northern Pike and Carter a Bass! Connor loves showing off his fish to his sisters when he gets home!

Princess Snack Time

It was a perfect night for a picnic snack for my for princesses! It consisted of gold fish, blue berries and water!

National Railroad Museum

One night while we were in Green Bay the families got to visit the National Railroad Museum. The kids had a lot of fun going through the different trains and seeing how people once traveled many years ago and how it has changed since. They were sent on a scavenger hunt and Connor was on a mission to have it completed first. He did a great job! We also got a train ride and a tour of the grounds!

Emma was excited about the name of this train that we got to ride on!

Touring the trains

Tundra Resort and Water park in Green Bay, Wisconsin

The last week in July Terry had a conference for work up in Green Bay and the families were invited to go along to enjoy the water park while employees attended meetings. The kids and I had a great time in the water park. The kids liked to see who would come out first of the two water slides. Everyone enjoyed the Lazy River and one of their favorites was their version of "Wipe Out" from what you see below! There was a rope to hang on to as you crossed from one floating device on to the other without trying to fall off. They all accomplished this quite well, even Karley with a little of help. Of course there were some intentional drop offs!!

Tessa really enjoyed the water and the water bubblers!
