Activities of the Day

Though the weather was warm and the ice was melting somewhat the boys had fun trying to play ice hockey!
Some kids tried fishing but nothing was biting!
The girls enjoyed playing dolls, Barbies and putting puzzles together inside.. some did go out later to walk on the ice!
A fun spot to play before lunch was in the toy room with the legos!

Time to Eat...

Here are some of the kids enjoying lunch before going outside or down stairs to play! All the kids had a great time and played very well together!

Birthday Cakes

Our friend, Heather, made and decorated the wonderful cakes for the party! Karley as you see below has a BIG SPARKLE ring, Brielle had ballet slippers, Wilson and Lincoln both had a Star War them and Dorothy had a theatrical mask.

Birthday Celebrants: Lincoln (4), Dorothy (15), Wilson (8), Bob, Brielle (5), Jolene, and Karley (4)
Missing: Damien (2) and new addition Weslee born the next day

Happy 4th Birthday Karley!

Sunday, Feb. 19, Karley turned 4 years old!! Where has time gone? The day started off with making pancakes in the shape of a 4! We all ate some and then got ready for Church. She helped sing in the choir. After Church, we headed downstairs because it was Donut Sunday!! Then it was time to get ready to go the January, February and March Birthday Party at Kristen's parents house!!

Sharing clothes

It is great that the girls are able to share clothes with each other and also share them with their girl cousins. My girls know the rotation: Dorothy to Elly to Emma to Josie to Brielle to Karley to Will and then Tessa.. and who knows with two more babies yet to be born. The girls have fun saying, "I use to wear that, or When this gets to small for me I pass it to ...." Yet, in the picture below.. Josie was excited because Tessa is sharing one of her outfits with her! The outfit that Josie has on and wore for the night is Tessa's. She hasn't even worn it yet because it is a 24 month one. The only part Josie couldn't really snap were the legs together!

Sleeping Beauties...

Here is just picture of the girls sleeping together. All most every night all four of the older kids want to sleep together in one bed. Connor is in the bed also but at the other end. I guess they really do love each other! Tessa enjoys her baby bed yet and a room to herself most nights!

Cardboard

Who knew that getting a new toilet would be so much fun? The kids like the new toilet, but they really liked the cardboard and box that it came in.

Here is what became of the box and cardboard....

Background scenery for going surfing, water and a your own surf board and a guitar...

The box became a play house...

Hand drawn decorations.. 8 and 6 for Emma and Josie's age

Karley knocking for a visit who later delivered cookies to Emma and Josie
Josie and Emma both decorated and fitted themselves in this box looking out of the holes with their eyes!

Cardboard can be so much for kids to play with and let their imagination run wild. They made some other things and Karley had a great time just coloring on it

Do you recognize this girl?

It's Josie in disguise. No she did not get her hair cut! She likes wearing this wig at times so she knows what she would look like with short bangs! She says she'll keep her long bangs!

Tessa

Tessa loves to go outside and play, so it has been a great winter for her to go out and run around without having to get all bundled up. She is to the point that if she sees someone get their coat on she runs looking for her boots, hat and coat. Her siblings are great helpers of getting her dressed and playing with her outside!

Kettle Burn Workout

Connor participated in a kettle burn workout program. He really, really enjoyed it. Terry would come home and say Connor had to do some tough workouts tonight, but Connor was always ready to back again. In the meantime, we got some kettle bells for our workout at home. The other night Connor was downstairs for awhile and then called for the girls to come down. When we all got down there, he was ready to give up a kettle bell workout! He did a great job of teaching his sisters what to do and how to do it. It's fun being able to workout with your kids!

Karley getting a good night sleep

Yes, she does sleep with a night light, but No, it is not very bright. The other night when I came home and went to check on the kids and this is how I found Karley sleeping! You just never know what she is going to do next!

Grandparents

A couple of Sundays ago, we had my parents and Terry's parents over for lunch after church. It was a very enjoyable lunch. Afterwards, the kids played a couple of UNO games against both grandpas.

Connor was excited about having a rematch Hockey game against Grandma and Grandpa Berning. Grandpa played a good game but Connor came out the winner at the end. Next time he said that he'll need to wear a pair of shoes to protect his toes. The tougher game came against Grandma B. which she ended up winning, even though Connor may deny it!

Sock Puppets

Here are some fish sock puppets that Josie and Emma put together. They had a great time playing with these puppets!
