40 Days

We have had wonderful weather this week! This day the three older girls and I took an Adventure. We started off by walking up to Vets Park , through the parking lot, by the Disc golf course and then decided to go to Wahlert's track. Along the way we saw many different things. When we got to the track, we ran around it and had races. Then we started to head back. The girls brought their princess capes with them when we first started off, but as we got into the walk it got rather warm. As we were walking back, Josie made a comment about Jesus walking in the hot desert for 40 days during Lent. So the girls pretended that we were walking in a desert on our way home and Josie was Jesus because she had the walking stick (like he probably used) and her cape (which the girls said was his robe). The rest of us were his apostles. It was fun to here and listen to the girls talk about their faith and what they are learning!

Bait

A couple of weeks ago my mom was over giving piano lessons to the kids. She went to go use the bathroom and by the stairs she saw a munch of little black things. She called me over to see if I knew what they were. They looked like little TURDS, so I went to pick one up and it ended up being some Junior Mints! They were at the top of the stairs and then going all the way down. Josie heard us talking so she came up and we asked her what she was doing. She responded, " I was baiting Emma. I was hoping she would find the candy and keep eating it until she got to me so she could play with me!" Unfortunately, we ruined her plan! Sorry!

Date Night

The kids know that Terry and I go out for a date night every know and then; and they think it is funny. One night Josie set this table for us with the help of her sisters and told Terry and I to come down for a date night! So we sat there and had a great supper with great hostesses!

Little Chef/ Baker

Karley loves to help out in the kitchen! Every time I am in the kitchen making something she is right there wanting to help out in anyway! She is becoming quite good at cracking eggs and mixing. Her two specialties that she can pretty much make on her own are instant oatmeal and scrambled eggs in the microwave. She knows what to put into each of them and what buttons to push no the microwave. She will let you know that she can do this by herself!

Outside

Tessa LOVES to go outside. When she sees anyone going outside or getting their coat, she is quick to find hers or point to it. This beautiful day she got her coat and headed outside just in her diaper! She say everyone else headed out the door and she was right with them!

Our Actor...

These are just some shots of Josie wanting to poise for the camera! I think she may be our actor; she loves dance, dress up, make believe and tell stories!!

"Cat On A Hot Tin Roof"

Joise had the opportunity to be in a "real" play at the Grand here in Dubuque. My sister Becky knew the director and said that he was looking for a couple more kids (he had two already) so Josie, Carter and Wilson filled the role very well. Although this was an adult drama, the kids did a great job and really got to know each other well! Josie loved everyone minute of it! She would come home very chatty! They performed the play six times over two weekends. The only thing that was a bummer was that since it was an adult drama, her siblings and other kids couldn't come to see it. Though I would have to say that I don't think that this will be the last time she is on the "Big" stage. The adult actors that she worked with were great and loved all the kids!

Make up time!! (One of her favorite parts)

The three girls (Brenna, Josie and Isebella).

In the play all five of the kids are siblings that run around and play Cowboys and Indians and celebrate their grandfather's birthday!
This picture was taken on their opening night!!

37th Birthday

On March 1st, I celebrated my 37th Birthday! Where does time go?? It was a wonderful day with lots of hugs and kisses from my family! I had many phone calls throughout the day and received many messages! My students at school all sang Happy Birthday to me during the different classes. That evening, Terry and I met up with my parents for supper at L May's. It was a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday card from Josie and a bowl of oatmeal from Karley!

The Kiddos and I before heading off to school!!

Dishes

If dishes is your job to do that night, you might as well make the most of it. This is what I saw as I walked into the kitchen the other day. Connor playing with the suds of the dish soap and making himself a beard with it! It reminded me when Connor and Emma would take baths together and do the same thing! Some things you can't resist! Yes, all the dishes did finally get washed in between all the fun!
