Karley

Karley has she likes to play on top of Emma's bed!

Timberlake 2010

For the past 3 years the WHOLE Berning family has gone to Timberlake Resort camping. Each year we have had a lot of fun: fishing, swimming, playing games, water balloons, camp fire stories, eating good food, etc... The kids always look forward to it each year. Here is our family picture on the last day and group picture of the grandkids (+ Tim: he is holding Brielle and John). All 17 grandkids enjoyed our camping experience!! My kids always ask when can we ALL go back again!

Red Sox

Playing baseball is one of Connor's favorite things to do in the summer. He plays for two teams the Dubuque Hawks and Red Sox. The Hawks is a local team and the Red Sox is a newer team put together this year. Terry helps coach both teams, but like I said before, I don't know who enjoys it more Terry or Connor!!! It is fun to see how Connor has improved over the years!

Coffee and magazines...Sundays at the Farm

The girls were playing house the other day. Josie was the mom, Emma was the baby and Karley was the sister. At one part of their playing, Josie needed to pretend to make her coffee (chocolate milk) and she needed a magazine to read. She said that she had just put her baby down for a name (Emma in a laundry basket). I asked her what she was doing at the table and she said that this is what mom's do at the farm on Sunday mornings! She was being Natalie and Emma was Willa. Since this they have also played Stacy, Grandma, Kristen, Becky, Tina and Penny! (I know all of them are not coffee drinkers, but they take their turn being each one!) See what influence their aunts have on them!! It is as simple as drinking coffee and reading the ads in the newspaper!

Corn Husking and Enjoying the results.

One day the rest of the kids were gone with Kristen to Lost Island and Karley and I got to spend the day together. For lunch, we had corn. She did all the husking and ate 3 of the 5 pieces of corn that we had!

Kids Imagination....CAN really surprise you!

The kids decided to take cans and smash them. After they were done with that they were going to go out and smashed cans to the neighbors for $.25. I was curious to see if they were really going to through with it. I told them they could only go to five houses. After two attempts having no luck because the neighbors were gone, they came back in the house and decided to decorate them instead. Connor decided to make a ring of cans and hung them around the house and Emma made CAN people!

Cinderella, Cinderella.....

Cinderella came back to my house again for some summer cleaning! The girls got two new headbands from their cousin Dorothy and right away they said it was just like Cinderella! So off they went and started cleaning! What a great influence Cinderella!

Just Playing in the rain, just playing in the rain....

When it is raining outside, the kids love to go out and play in it. There is always a little puddle that forms at the end of the drive way that draws the kids attention. They get their rain coats and boats on (if they have some) and grab an umbrella and the fun begins!!

One of Josie's many faces!
Karley walking through the puddles!
Emma and Karley jumping in the puddles!

Fireworks

Here are a couple of photos from July 4. Terry shot some fireworks out at the farm before and in between the rain! The kids had a great time playing in the light rain before it started to rain harder!

Get In Shape Girl......

When Karley wants a head band in her hair, she doesn't just want one, but all the ones she can find plus any other hair pieces she can find. To top the outfit off she has a pair of my socks on for her leg warmers and water bottle in hand!

Following the leader, the leader, the leader.....

The kids love taking their ice cream dessert outside to eat after supper. Ever since they were little and started doing this, they always walk in order of their age. They play follow the leader and do whatever Connor does. Even if someone new walks with them, they tell that person where to be at in line!

Coaching the younger sister....

Emma started playing softball this year and seemed to enjoy it. Big brother Connor enjoyed practicing with Emma though he had to throw a little softer to her than he does to Dad or Mom. Emma got to play first base once during a game. The next day Connor asked her if she wanted him to teach her how to play first base, since this is the position Connor has played most often this year. Emma knowing this right away said "Yes!" It was fun watching Connor teach her what she had to do to play first base.
